Reviews (highlights)
I am so happy to find a Hammam Spa in Calgary. I had only previously experienced Hammam once (in Spain) and found the experience worth repeating. And, having tried Hamman Retreat & Spa, I discovered a place where I can keep repeating the experience. I was treated with kindness and respect from the moment I arrived through the beautiful lobby of the building, which had already caused major relaxation vibes. The facilities were excellent, the treatment professional and thorough, the care and attention to detail of every little thing was impeccable. And my skin felt so absolutely amazing. I can hardly wait to go back!
A truly rejuvenating experience!
If you’re looking for looking for a place to unwind, reset, and indulge in real self-care, I can’t recommend this place enough. I left feeling relaxed, pampered, and completely renewed!
From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and beautifully designed — a true oasis right in the city. The hammam experience was absolutely amazing.
I started my session with Sauna then into the hammam room which was soothing and aromatic, and the traditional exfoliation treatment left my skin softer than it’s ever been. My aesthetician Kira was professional, kind, and made sure I felt completely at ease throughout the entire session.
My skin felt amazingly soft and refreshed afterward. The facial that followed was just as impressive — gentle yet effective, leaving my skin glowing and hydrated.
Huda was warm, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. You can tell they genuinely care about their clients’ comfort and experience.
It was honestly one of the best self-care experiences I’ve had in a long time and the best birthday gift😃
Absolutely wonderful experience at this hammam spa.
The hammam treatment itself was exceptional — relaxing, rejuvenating, and done with such care. The sauna, exfoliation, and warm water ritual left my skin feeling unbelievably soft and refreshed. I followed it with a massage, and it was truly one of the best I’ve had. Shayla was skilled, gentle, and knew exactly how to ease tension without any discomfort.
Overall, it was a peaceful, luxurious escape from the everyday rush.
I paid $367 for what was supposed to be a proper Moroccan hammam experience, and what I received was absolutely unacceptable. I’ve been to hammams in many countries, and this was by far the worst, to the point that I honestly feel cheated.
Yes, I was 15 minutes late, and I clearly said I was fine with a shorter session. But that doesn’t excuse the extremely poor service. The massage therapist had no idea what she was doing. The hammam itself was a joke — the room wasn’t even hot, and there was cold air blowing from a fan, which ruins the entire purpose of a hammam. The woman doing the scrub was completely inexperienced; she barely scrubbed anything, and it felt like she didn’t know the steps at all.
I even asked for a foot scrub at the beginning, and instead of actually doing it, she just smeared some gel and did the bare minimum. For $367, this is shocking.
I had already prepaid, which is the only reason I continued with the sessions. But honestly, this place is a total waste of money. I have no idea how they have good ratings — either people don’t know what a real hammam is, or those reviews are not genuine.
If you actually care about getting a proper hammam experience, don’t book here. I walked out feeling frustrated, disappointed, and completely overcharged.
What makes this even more disappointing is that I brought my friend for her first-ever hammam experience, and this place completely ruined it. Instead of feeling relaxed or impressed, she left confused and uncomfortable. This isn’t how a hammam is supposed to be.
I think in Calgary sometimes you don't realize how dry your skin is and life is so busy that small retreats like this can sometimes mean the world. The atmosphere was relaxing with dim lighting. The Hammam does mean your whole body gets wet but it was such an amazing experience. I would recommend both the Hammam and massage!
